Live Aid at 40 – Tony Blair: Bono and Geldof saved millions of lives with Live Aid

Ahead of its broadcast on the BBC and CNN, Live Aid at 40: When Rock’n’Roll took on the World has been featured in The Times, with Sir Tony Blair reflecting on how Bob Geldof and Bono have saved millions of lives, and crediting Bob Geldof with persuading him, as British prime minister, to champion African debt relief.

The series has also been covered in Deadline, examining Bob Geldof’s views on the current political climate, and The Mirror, which reflects on how Live Aid’s rock’n’roll romance couldn’t work today.

Live Aid at 40: When Rock’n’Roll Took on the World will air on BBC Two on Sunday, 6 July, at 9pm, and will be available to stream on iPlayer.

It will also air on CNN on Sunday, 13 July, at 9pm.
