Prison 24/7 Life Behind Bars

With unprecedented access to the Scottish Prison Service, this gripping documentary goes inside two of the country’s busiest jails, currently at boiling point, to reveal what it’s like behind closed doors.

Across this eye-opening and accessible film, we follow a dynamic cast of inmates and prison staff as they show us the rarely seen daily realities of life behind bars.

It’s a world that’s constantly on a knife edge, where the smallest details matter, and even the choice of what’s on the TV can be the difference between a calm landing and total chaos. Executed with a premium docu-soap aesthetic, the narrative pivots between fascinating prison routines, to shocking moments of tension or even unexpected hope and humour between staff and prisoners. We see first-hand how quickly navigating the pressures of everyday life inside can go south.

This is a 360-degrees look at prison life at its most revealing.
